Established in 2008, Project X is a sex-positive and inclusive organisation that works to advance the rights, health, and well-being of sex workers in Singapore. Through a combination of social services, community organising, research, and advocacy, we support individuals in the sex industry to access care, build community, and shape public understanding and policy.
The Senior Manager / Deputy Director will play a key leadership role in strengthening our programmes, people, and partnerships. You'll oversee daily operations, lead a dedicated team, and help steer the organisation towards long-term sustainability and impact.
This is also a leadership succession role - the successful candidate will be mentored and prepared to potentially assume the Executive Director position within 1-3 years, taking on greater strategic and management responsibilities during the transition.
This role offers exceptional runway for growth in impactful leadership, with direct mentorship from the Executive Director, who brings over 15 years of experience building Project X's vision and partnerships. You'll gain meaningful exposure to Singapore's social work and public policy landscapes, and develop the skills needed to navigate and shape systems that directly affect marginalised communities.
Oversee daily organisational operations and ensure programmes align with Project X's mission and values.
Lead, support, and supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a strong, caring, and accountable team culture.
Manage budgets, track performance, and ensure compliance with donor, regulatory and legal requirements.
Evaluate programme impact and prepare reports for funders and stakeholders.
Consult and centre the lived experiences of the community in decision making processes and programmes.
Contribute to evidence-based legislative and policy reform efforts.
Contribute to strategic planning, fundraising, and partnership development initiatives.
Create platforms and spaces that amplify sex workers voices and leadership.
Represent Project X in local, regional, and international spaces.

5-8 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years in people or programme management roles, ideally within the social or non-profit sector.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Financial literacy and experience managing programme budgets.
Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities.
Willingness to work flexible or non-traditional hours when needed.
Deep commitment to sex workers rights and a strong understanding of intersectionality.
Desirable

Background in advocacy, research, or community organising.
