Job Description

Our client is a fast-growing, multi-billion-dollar international insurtech firm focused on building a leading, technology-driven protection ecosystem. They are currently seeking a Senior Manager for their Security Engineering and Architecture division. In this critical regional leadership position, you will head the firm's comprehensive security engineering program, spanning vulnerability management, workspace/endpoint security, security architecture, and cloud security. You will lead a high-performing team of domain managers and specialist engineers, setting technical direction and delivery standards across the regional technology footprint.

Operating within the APAC time zone, you will hold ultimate accountability for application and product security, serving as a high-visibility security partner to regional executive management and acting as the delegate for the global CISO in regional forums and escalations when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategic design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of security controls across multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and enterprise workspace platforms (M365).
  • Oversee regional vulnerability management programs, ensuring extensive asset coverage, proactive prioritization, automated remediation tracking, and clear risk posture reporting to senior leadership.
  • Establish and maintain robust reference architectures, security design standards, and comprehensive threat-modeling processes across the technology estate.
  • Manage the overall health, performance, and integration of production security tooling to maximize detection, orchestration, and incident response efficiency.
  • Retain ultimate oversight over product security practices, providing high-level technical direction and support to embedded specialist leads running day-to-day functions.
  • Champion the safe adoption of AI within security engineering to accelerate triage and automation, while establishing secure guardrails and governance for generative AI systems across the wider enterprise.
  • Act as a strategic security advisor to APAC business and technology leaders, fostering a security-first culture and translating complex technical risks into clear business impacts.
  • Coordinate readiness for critical regulatory audits and security certifications (including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS), ensuring engineering evidence meets global compliance standards.
  • Mentor, manage, and scale a regional engineering team, setting clear KPIs, fostering accountability, and driving continuous technical skill development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of dedicated cybersecurity experience, including at least 3+ years in a structured leadership role managing security engineering or SecOps teams at scale.
  • Proven, in-depth technical expertise across vulnerability management, modern endpoint security, and multi-cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Direct exposure or hands-on familiarity with enterprise security operations and vulnerability management solutions (e.g., Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7).
  • Strong understanding of security architecture standards, threat-modeling practices, and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS.
  • Solid baseline knowledge of securing machine learning systems, data risks, and emerging AI governance frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act) is highly desirable.
  • Clear awareness of the APAC regulatory landscape, including financial services mandates and localized data privacy considerations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of influencing executive leadership and collaborating across distributed, global cross-functional teams.
  • A Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field. Advanced industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or specialized cloud security credentials) are highly preferred.
