Senior Manager, Credit Analysis (China Coverage)

Job Description

We are partnering with a leading international financial institution to seek an experienced Credit Analyst to join its Asia Credit Trading team, with a primary focus on China-related issuers across both Investment Grade and High Yield markets.

This is a front-office role where you will work closely with traders to provide actionable credit insights, generate investment ideas, and support risk management and trading decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Research & Analysis

  • Perform fundamental credit analysis on China corporates, SOEs, LGFVs, property developers, and other key issuers.
  • Develop timely views around earnings, policy developments, refinancing events, and rating actions.
  • Produce concise, actionable research and trade recommendations for the trading desk.

Idea Generation

  • Identify relative value opportunities across bonds and capital structures.
  • Generate high-conviction investment ideas supported by clear catalysts, valuation analysis, and risk-reward frameworks.

Trading & Risk Support

  • Partner closely with traders on pricing, spread analysis, and market developments.
  • Monitor issuer developments and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in downside scenario analysis and risk assessment.

Market Engagement

  • Build relationships with investors, banks, brokers, rating agencies, and other market participants.
  • Contribute to primary market discussions and new issue evaluations.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years experience in credit research, fixed income investing, or credit trading within Asian markets.
  • Strong knowledge of China credit markets, including both Investment Grade and High Yield sectors.
  • Ability to analyse credits independently and communicate investment views clearly and effectively.
  • Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Mandarin language capability (reading, writing, and speaking) would be highly advantageous.
