Job Summary: Based in Singapore, the Senior Manager, Corporate M&A will take on responsibility as project leader for diverse M&A transactions and play an active role in shaping the Group's strategic development. Asia represents a key pillar of our client's growth strategy and will be the primary geographic focus of the position.
The candidate is expected to have a strong network and be an expert in sourcing and executing M&A deals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on the Asian M&A market, with the office based at the regional Headquarters in Singapore.
- Lead projects or sub-projects covering acquisitions, divestments, and joint venture formations in interdisciplinary teams.
- Manage complete M&A process, including:
- Steering internal and external teams (e.g., investment banks)
- Deal origination and assessment of strategic fit
- Analysis of business plans, and preparation of company valuations
- Leading due diligence processes
- Negotiating contractual terms through to successful closing
- Support Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) activities, e.g., leading projects within the CVC environment.
- Contribute to strategic projects at the Group and business area level, such as market entry strategies.
- Prepare decision-making materials for the Executive Board.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Degree in business administration, engineering, or natural sciences with strong technical ability; ideally complemented by an MBA or PhD as well as international experience.
Experience:
- At least six years of professional experience in the transaction environment of an investment bank or boutique and/or in Corporate M&A / Corporate Development within an international industrial group.
- Proven track record of successfully completed transactions.
- Strong technical and methodological expertise combined with a pragmatic, hands-on mentality.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
- Ability to present complex topics clearly and in a clear and audience-oriented manner.
- Strong communication skills, professional presence, and team spirit.
- High level of initiative, flexibility, and commitment.
Sector Experience:
- Industry knowledge in mechanical engineering and software is a plus
- Well-connected within the investment banking sector in Asia
Skills:
- Excellent command of Microsoft 365 (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and CapitalIQ
