Summary:
Lead and manage the CBM team across Singapore and the US, providing strong coaching, training, and guidance to build a high‑performing team and ensure achievement of cost management and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and drive global commodity sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities to deliver sustainable cost reduction, lead‑time improvement, and supplier business continuity.
- Actively communicate and align commodity strategies with Business Units, Engineering, NPI, Operations, Quality, and Finance to ensure sourcing decisions support product development and business goals.
- Formulate and execute value‑based negotiation strategies with suppliers in complex, high‑mix/low‑volume environments to achieve strategic, operational, and financial targets.
- Maintain end‑to‑end commodity ownership, including supplier relationship management, supplier development, identification and qualification of new or alternative suppliers, and alignment with global supply strategies.
- Take full accountability for commodity performance, including KPIs, supplier compliance to commercial agreements, and execution of continuous improvement roadmaps.
- Proactively manage supply risk by conducting regular risk assessments and driving mitigation plans, including establishing alternative sourcing routes for critical and strategic materials.
The job incumbent should possess:
- A Master or bachelor's degree in engineering/ supply chain management with minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain roles within high‑technology or semiconductor environment.
- Proven senior leadership experience with the ability to lead, coach, train, and develop high‑performing CBM teams across Singapore and the US, driving alignment and accountability against cost management objectives.
- Strong hands‑on experience spanning both supply chain and engineering environments, with the ability to bridge technical and commercial considerations through a solid understanding of product design, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic commodity management, including development and execution of commodity strategies, sustainable cost reduction initiatives, and complex, value‑based negotiations in high‑mix/low‑volume environments.
- Extensive experience in supplier relationship management and supply risk management, including supplier performance governance, compliance management, business continuity planning, and implementation of alternative sourcing strategies.
- Proven global mindset with strong cross‑cultural effectiveness, excellent stakeholder communication skills, and the willingness and ability to undertake frequent overseas travel to manage teams, suppliers, and stakeholders across regions.
