Senior Manager, Business Development

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded professional for a unique business development role at the intersection of engineering, maritime operations, innovation, and corporate strategy. This position requires a rare combination of maritime and Port knowledge, strategic insight, and commercial acumen to identify growth opportunities, drive innovation, and support business expansion.

The successful candidate will bring extensive international experience across the maritime and port software, with strong expertise incorporate strategy. They will have broad experience spanning strategy, product management, and project management.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

. Lead and support business development initiatives across the Port Optimisation business

. Provide strategic and operational expertise relating to ports, maritime systems, and digital transformation initiatives

. Identify and assess investment opportunities and develop strategies for market expansion and business growth

. Develop business cases for new product development, innovation programmes, and strategic growth initiatives

. Support and contribute to corporate strategy development, including business transformation and divestment activities

. Build and maintain strategic relationships across industry stakeholders in the UK, Europe, and Singapore markets

To be able to succeed in theposition, we expect you to have:

• Minimum 12 years experience working across both the maritime and energy sectors, including experience working in the UK, Europe, and Singapore
• Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong project management experience, including previous attainment of a recognised project management qualification to at least IPMA level D
• Experience in the product management of port vessel traffic management and operational systems, including:
• Vessel Traffic Management Systems (VTMS)
• Port Management Information Systems (PMIS)
• Strong innovation management experience, including delivery of complex projects involving emerging technologies such as autonomous vessels, drones, and 3D printing
• Proven experience in investment assessment, commercial evaluation, and market expansion strategy
• Significant corporate strategy experience, including:
• Preparing businesses for divestment
• Identifying businesses for acquisition
• Corporate strategy development
• Developing business cases for product development and strategic initiatives
  
  

. Skills & Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of ports, maritime operations, and associated digital systems and technologies
• Strong commercial and strategic thinking capability with the ability to evaluate opportunities and support business growth
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with experience operating across technical and executive-level environments
• Strong project and product management capability, with the ability to manage complex and multidisciplinary initiatives
• Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel and Power BI for analysis, reporting, and decision support
• Familiarity with Jira and Agile software development methodologies and environments
