The Role

Senior Manager/Assistant Director (HR Business Partner)

As a Business Partner, you will proactively partner with our line departments in all HR aspects including recruitment, performance management, talent and career management as well as employee relations in building a high-performance and purpose driven culture. You will act as the critical link between business needs and HR strategy, closing capability gaps and strengthening the organisation's people foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong rapport with line departments to understand business needs, be aware of ground concerns/issues and be able to identify competencies required for NTUC-ARU to meet our future needs.
  • Provide professional and strategic advice to the line departments to raise productivity and enhance capability.
  • Resolve complex workforce issues such as grievances, manage disciplinary procedures while maintaining legal compliance with employment practices.
  • Identify current and future talent needs, develop workforce plans and implement strategies to attract and retain talent.
  • Lead recruitment and manpower planning in partnership with hiring managers, ensuring timely fulfilment of critical roles.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by proactively addressing employee concerns, enhancing engagement and promoting well-being.

Requirements

  • At least 5 to 8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a business partnering or strategic HR role.
  • Candidates with team management experience, ability to lead HR projects and track record of driving HR transformation would be considered with a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore's labour laws, HR best practices, and experience navigating complex organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach in driving HR initiatives.
  • Passionate about making a difference in a cause-driven organisation and contributing to the Labour Movement's mission.
