Key Job Purpose:
The Senior Technician is responsible for maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility utility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The role provides technical support, responds to equipment breakdowns, and supports maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including mixing tanks, filling machines, packaging equipment, and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system faults to minimize equipment downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support the timely restoration of production operations.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain facility utility systems, including HVAC, chillers, air compressors, DI/UPW systems, and wastewater treatment plants.
- Carry out routine equipment inspections, servicing, lubrication, adjustments, and replacement of faulty components.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, modification, and improvement activities.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors and external service vendors during maintenance and installation work.
- Monitor critical spare parts inventory and ensure essential parts are available for maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records, repair reports, and equipment service documentation.
- Support the investigation of recurring equipment failures, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Support calibration, validation, equipment qualification, and internal or external audit activities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company Safety, Environmental, Quality, GMP, SOP, Risk Assessment, and Permit-to-Work requirements.
- Support continuous improvement, equipment reliability, energy-saving, and maintenance cost-reduction initiatives.
- Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Lead or Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum ITE or Diploma in Mechatronics/Mechanical or Electrics/Electronics Engineering or equivalent with 3 years of relevant working experience in a similar environment (comparable level of complexity)
- Multi-tasking, troubleshooting skill and awareness of work safety
- Positive attitude with a sense of urgency
- Experience in equipment and facilities maintenance will be an advantage
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
