Job Description

Job Description & Core Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control hyperbaric environmental conditions within saturation living chambers and TBM habitat systems, including oxygen, carbon dioxide, temperature, humidity and pressure.
  • Prepare, analyse and control breathing gas mixtures, including Heliox, Nitrox and oxygen levels, and manage gas regeneration and scrubbing systems.
  • Execute and monitor compression and decompression procedures for saturation diving teams in accordance with approved diving procedures and applicable diving tables.
  • Operate life support control panels, gas distribution manifolds, medical locks and sanitation lock systems.
  • Maintain accurate LST operational logs, monitor life-support gas stocks and carry out routine inspection, maintenance and calibration of gas analysers and hyperbaric equipment.
  • Monitor gas cylinder pressure and inventory, and plan cylinder replacement schedules to ensure adequate gas supply.
  • Lead and coordinate the LST team, allocate work and ensure that life support operations are carried out safely and effectively.
  • Report equipment abnormalities, safety concerns and operational issues to the Diving / Hyperbaric Operations Supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Relevant Life Support Technician (LST) certification or qualification, such as ADCI Life Support Technician (LST) or IMCA-recognised LST / Assistant LST certification, where applicable to the scope of work.
  • Valid offshore / commercial diving medical fitness certificate, as required for the role.
  • Minimum 11 years of relevant experience in life support operations, with substantial experience in saturation diving systems or TBM hyperbaric habitats.
  • Proven experience in leading or supervising an LST team and coordinating life support operations.
  • Strong practical knowledge of gas analysis, breathing gas management, hyperbaric life support systems and chamber environmental control.
  • Experience in gas regeneration / scrubbing systems, gas monitoring equipment and hyperbaric chamber operations.
  • Knowledge of chamber sanitation procedures and emergency response requirements.
  • Relevant DMT / First Aid / CPR training or certification will be an advantage, where applicable.
  • Strong safety awareness, leadership, communication, teamwork and attention to detail.
