ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and dependable lawyer who can operate independently in a fast-moving technology business.
The Senior Legal Counsel will serve as the company's principal in-house legal adviser in Singapore and Southeast Asia. The role will lead the drafting, review and negotiation of commercial contracts and provide management with practical advice on significant legal, contractual and regulatory risks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
. Draft, review and negotiate customer, supplier, distribution, reseller, original equipment manufacturer, software licensing, services, confidentiality and strategic partnership agreements.
. Advise management on material legal, contractual and regulatory risks, providing clear, practical and commercially appropriate recommendations.
. Support the company's business activities in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
. Develop and maintain contract templates, approval procedures, legal playbooks and risk-control frameworks.
. Coordinate and manage local external counsel where specialist legal advice or local-law support is required.
. Support corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment-related legal matters, disputes and regulatory enquiries as required.
. Identify, assess and manage relevant legal and compliance risks involving data protection, anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, sanctions, export controls and digital-asset regulation.
. Partner closely with management and cross-functional business teams to support the company's commercial and strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
. Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor or an equivalent recognised legal qualification.
. Qualified as a lawyer in Singapore or another established common-law jurisdiction.
. At least 8 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably including 4 or more years in an in-house legal role.
. Strong and practical knowledge of Singapore commercial and contract law.
. Direct experience supporting commercial activities in at least two of Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Experience covering all three jurisdictions is strongly preferred.
. Demonstrated ability to independently draft and negotiate complex cross-border commercial and technology contracts.
. Strong commercial judgment and the ability to explain legal and regulatory risks clearly to non-legal management.
. Professional fluency in written and spoken English, as English will be used for legal drafting, management communication, negotiations with regional counterparties and coordination with external counsel.
. High standards of integrity, confidentiality, responsiveness and personal accountability.
. Able to operate independently as a senior in-house legal adviser with limited supervision.
. Willing and able to undertake occasional business travel within Southeast Asia when required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
Candidates will be particularly relevant if they possess one or more of the following:
. Professional proficiency in Mandarin for regular legal and commercial communication with Mandarin-speaking management and counterparties, and for reviewing or negotiating Chinese-language commercial documents.
. Experience working within organisations participating in the NVIDIA Partner Network, particularly Preferred or Elite Partners, distributors, Solution Providers, original equipment manufacturers or System Partners.
. Experience in enterprise technology, GPU or AI infrastructure, data centres, cloud computing, hardware distribution or systems integration.
. Experience supporting Web3, blockchain, digital-asset or cryptocurrency-mining businesses.
. Experience supporting technology companies operating through distributor, reseller, channel-partner or original equipment manufacturer business models.
Direct NVIDIA ecosystem experience is highly desirable but is not mandatory where the candidate possesses strong and closely related technology-sector experience.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
. Commercial and solutions-oriented, rather than purely technical or academic.
. Comfortable operating as a senior standalone legal adviser.
. Able to prioritise urgent matters and make sound decisions with limited supervision.
. Clear, concise and confident when communicating with senior management.
. Skilled at balancing legal protection with commercial objectives.
. Dependable, discreet and willing to take ownership of matters through completion.
COMPENSATION
. Monthly base salary of S$15,000-S$20,000.
