About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal professional to join our Global Legal & Compliance team. Operating within a matrix organization, the successful candidate will report to the Global General Counsel and Regional CEO, Asia. Based in our Singapore office, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the company's operations within Asia, remain fully compliant with applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate governance standards. This full-time, office-based role is located in the Downtown Core Central Region, Singapore.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the company.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
  • Support with internal audits and compliance checks together with the Global Compliance team.
  • Representing the company in dealings with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, government agencies and other external stakeholders
  • Project Management

What we're looking for

  • Strong legal and compliance expertise, with the ability to interpret, apply, and adapt legal principles in fast-evolving business contexts.
  • Experience in the freight forwarding or shipping industries is preferred, with sound understanding of commercial and operational dynamics.
  • Demonstrates strategic judgment able to balance legal integrity with commercial pragmatism, and to distinguish between ideal outcomes and what is practical for the business.
  • Commercially astute and solutions-oriented, with a track record of providing advice that enables business growth while managing risk responsibly.
  • Agile and adaptable, thrives in environments where priorities shift and decisions must be made on the go, maintaining clarity under pressure.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) builds trust, communicates with tact, and manages sensitive issues with empathy and composure.
  • Collaborative mindset, capable of working both independently and across multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders and influence decisions constructively.
