As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate and Investment Bank, Payments Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Regularly provides technical guidance and directionto support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure, high-quality production codeandreviews and debugscode, scripts, and configurations written by others
  • Owns end-to-end monitoringfor core Payments Technology applications including setting up and updating monitoring and alerting solutions including SLI / SLO Management to meet business SLAs
  • Perform Alert Management on a regular basis and implement runbooks / play books for creating autonomy of operations
  • Leads day-to-day production operations, including incident/problem/defect and client request management drivestechnical triageand stakeholder coordination during active incidents
  • Drives root cause analysis and remediation, documenting solutions and ensuring follow-through through active task management and cross-team execution
  • Ensures resiliency and recoverabilitythrough resiliency documentation reviews, resiliency events, and adherence toaudit/regulatoryrequirements
  • Improves operational efficiency and change safetyby automating BAU processes and actively participating in change management
  • Influences product/design and technical operations decisions, serving as a function-wide SME and championing pragmatic adoption of leading-edge technologies where appropriate

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines
  • Formal training or certification on engineering concepts and 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services
  • Demonstrates knowledge of applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud
  • Experience in observability and monitoring tools and techniques
  • Exposure to processes in scope of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
  • Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational database concepts
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate to wide audiences, including senior leadership

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages and/or automation scripting
  • Working understanding of public cloud (AWS)
  • Previous experience working banking or finance industry
  • Experience building/configuring observability in tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, etc.
