Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Lead Risk Management Executive to support Group-level governance alignment between our Singapore office and our Japan Headquarters. This role is to ensure consistent implementation of corporate risk management and JSOX compliance standards across the Group. The incumbent will work closely with both Singapore and Japan stakeholders to strengthen internal controls, compliance frameworks, and risk governance practices. This position will be based in Singapore.
Responsibilties
- Conduct reviews of internal controls to ensure compliance with JSOX (Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements. This involves evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of control mechanisms, identifying any gaps or weaknesses, and recommending improvements. Additionally, ensure that all processes and procedures align with regulatory standards and best practices to mitigate risks and enhance operational integrity.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage compliance programs, ensuring all activities adhere to regulatory and internal standards.
- Actively coordinate and conduct detailed risk assessments across various operational activities, ensuring potential risks are identified and mitigated effectively.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of lessons learned from past projects, facilitating continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Act as the liaison between the Risk Management Department of the Singapore office and the Japan headquarters, facilitating effective communication and coordination in both English and Japanese between the two entities.
- Assist in the preparation of risk management plans, reports, and meeting materials in Japanese.
- Provide translation support for documents issued by Japan headquarters, translating materials from Japanese to English to ensure accurate understanding and implementation.
- Any other duties to be assigned from time to time.
Prerequisites
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
- Prior compliance audit / Risk Management experiences within a Japan-headquartered organization or supporting Japan HQ reporting structures is advantageous.
- Self-motivated individual with a high level of integrity, drive and sense of urgency
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently across different businesses units with different stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of JSOX or Japanese corporate governance frameworks preferred.
- Meticulous, mature and able to multiple-task
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both written and spoken forms.
