About the Role
We seek a seasoned, outstanding individual to join as Snr Lead, Philanthropy and play a vital role in connecting philanthropic capital with climate impact, and who can bring narrative power, stakeholder insight, and ecosystem fluency to help shape the future of climate philanthropy in Asia. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Snr Lead supports strategic initiatives to deepen relationships with donors, intermediaries, and partners across Asia, expanding the Advisory's networks and mobilising greater capital and advocacy toward high-impact climate solutions in Asia.
Responsibilities
The Snr Lead Philanthropy will engage in the following areas of responsibilities.
. Support the Advisory's market cultivation strategy through relationship-first engagement with philanthropists and partners. Lead high-touch stewardship efforts by contributing to thoughtful prospect research, personalised outreach, and tailored follow-up. Monitor and surface emerging opportunities for principal connections across Asia, and proactively broker trust-based alliances with key intermediaries to enable warm referrals and long-term engagement.
. Pilot and iterate new donor engagement initiatives, using data and feedback to refine approaches. Track engagement metrics and donor behaviour to generate actionable insights that inform stewardship strategies. Share key findings across the organisation through quarterly prospect reviews to anticipate donor needs and shape timely, tailored touchpoints and offerings.
. Lead in organising and managing key donor engagement activities by setting a strategic calendar of events and acting as lead coordinator for co-curated platforms (i.e. climate-focused roundtables, speaking opportunities, overseas grantee visits) in collaboration with intermediary partners.
. Identify and cultivate partnerships and opportunities for collaboration with select intermediaries across key geographies and sectors, elevating the Advisory position as a reliable climate knowledge partner and convening partner.
. Leverage on one's own and the Advisory's networks and continually grow, evolve, and maintain trust-based partnerships within the Asian climate and philanthropic sector.
Qualifications and Requirements
. 5-8 years of experience and track record in philanthropy specifically in working with philanthropic actors across sectors and geographies in Asia.
. A demonstrable understanding and passion for climate.
. Proficient in communications with the keen ability to translate complex climate issues and strategies into clear, compelling narratives for philanthropists-bridging technical insights and on-the-ground needs with strategic storytelling to inspire and drive action.
. Proven ability to engage principals, decision-makers and build trust-based relationships
. Outstanding writing and presentation skills
. Demonstrated proficiency in project management, with a strong ability to coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders and partners.
. A high level of cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in diverse and cross-cultural environments.
. Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic start-up environment.
. Demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of optimism, and readiness to share the field's urgency to significantly increase climate philanthropy that is aligned to the Advisory's mission and vision.
. Bachelor's degree and higher.
