Senior IT Analyst (8 months contract)

We are seeking a skilled Senior IT analyst with good Java Microservices Development experience to join our technology team in building scalable, secure, and high-performance banking applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining microservices-based systems that power our core banking, payments, and customer-facing platforms. You will work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver robust solutions that meet the high standards of the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Java-based microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.

• Build and optimise RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures to support banking workflows.

• Work with MySQL databases, including schema design, query optimisation, and transaction management.

• Implement secure coding practices, including authentication (OAuth2, JWT), authorisation, and encryption.

• Collaborate with front end, integration, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Write unit, integration, and contract tests using frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, and Mockito.

• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and technical design discussions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and performance.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

• Ensure compliance with banking security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS TRM Guidelines).

Key Requirements

Technical Skills

• Min 6 years with strong proficiency in Java (version 11 or higher) and Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security).

• Experience designing and building microservices architectures, including service discovery, API gateways, and distributed tracing.

• Solid experience with MySQL, including complex queries, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, and versioning strategies.

• Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous.
