Description
The Senior Insight Manager fully manages client projects and helps companies to listen to and collaborate with their customers, based on Human8's innovative research methods. The key role of the Senior Insight Manager is to manage complex quantitative/ qualitative/ community research projects, with a senior member of the company overseeing the work. Also included is project lead for routine or simple research projects and assisting in the development of junior staff.
Responsibilities
Project Management - The Senior Insight Manager is a project management specialist.
- Actively manages complex projects (e.g., multinational, multi methodology, etc.) with light direction from seniors.
- The point of escalation for junior consultants.
- Shares expertise with others and can delegate to junior colleagues.
Activity Design - The Senior Insight Manager is an independent researcher (content manager) who can design all types of activities to a high standard (e.g., get valuable feedback from clients and Beacon).
- Shares expertise with others and can delegate to junior colleagues.
- For more complex activities, the Senior Insight Manager plays a more active role in supporting the team.
Analysis and Reporting - The Senior Insight Manager is an independent researcher (content manager) who adds value through commercially astute and impactful conclusions and recommendations, with light direction from seniors.
- Consistently, delivers high quality outputs, that receive positive client and Beacon feedback.
- Shares expertise with the junior consultants.
Solution Design - The Senior Insight Manager can independently interpret the information needs of the client on a range of different projects, translating this into overall project design and the right Solutions to use.
- The Senior Insight Manager starts guiding others on the design of the right approach, and mainly does that within the areas of building up most of the expertise.
- The Senior Insight Manager has a thorough understanding of the bigger part of the Solutions within our portfolio (beyond Primary research) and be able to work with it.
Presenting - The Senior Insight Manager regularly and confidently gives impactful presentations to clients, with light support from seniors for the most strategic projects.
- The Senior Insight Manager gets positive feedback from colleagues and clients alike.
- The Senior Insight Manager is expected to contribute to the design of high impact client workshops / brainstorms and actively participates in delivery.
Account Management - The Senior Insight Manager is known for having built great client relationships and pass on expertise to junior consultants.
- Is confident in different client settings.
- Knows the emotional levers that the clients have and are able to pull them.
- The Senior Insight Manager is an interaction management master, in tune with the clients current and financial needs.
- Focuses on existing clients, getting involved in account planning, assisting review meetings and client outreach to new DMUs.
Growth Marketing & Industry Expertise - The Senior Insight Manager actively shares, follow-ups and activates sales content.
- Can call upon and leverages expertise (e.g., sector, solution, etc.) in house.
Commercial Management & Business Development - The Senior Insight Manager actively works on professional profiling and commercial skill set, connecting better with different clients.
- Has broad knowledge and understanding of the full portfolio and can independently interact with clients about it.
- The Senior Insight Manager actively looks to develop the business we have with a client, by making new contacts at the client side.
- Can design proposals for simple projects (focus on Primary research) and supports seniors for the more complex proposals (e.g., programmes, structural, etc.).
- Assists with competitive client pitches.
- Shows the clients how to deliver against their needs.
Additional responsibilities - In addition to the day-to-day tasks, The Senior Insight Manager identifies and begins to develop expertise in a specific area(s) - examples may be an Activity, Solution, industry sector, management etc.
- The Senior Insight Manager may be asked to start coaching 1 (maybe more) junior consultant.
- Strikes the right balance between being a colleague, friend, and coach.
- Helps the coachees to consistently deliver high quality work, gets positive feedback from colleagues and clients alike.
- Helps the coachees feel empowered and encourages them to take control of their career.
- Spots any burnout / fatigue before it is an issue and is a positive role model of this.
- The Senior Insight Manager conducts performance reviews and guides them through their career path.
- Upon request, gets involved in the brainstorming, creation, and delivery of internal training, with support from the Learning & Development manager.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
To excel in this role, The Senior Insight Manager should possess the following:
- Report Writing: Ability to communicate complex research findings effectively, and in English.
- Leadership: Motivate and guide the team, build trust, and ensure project success.
- Proposal Writing: Craft compelling proposals for funding and project management.
- Statistical Software Knowledge: Familiarity with tools like SPSS etc.
- Problem-Solving: Address challenges promptly to keep projects on track.
- Analytical Skills: Interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
- Budgeting: Manage project budgets efficiently.
- Presentation Skills: Convey research results to stakeholders.
- Education level: A bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g. psychology, social studies, policies, business, etc).
- Experience: At least 5 years as researcher
- Proven Track:Demonstrated success through impactful research projects.
