Build the Cloud Infrastructure That Powers Modern Applications
At Rhino Partners, we're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Backend Engineer who is passionate about designing resilient, secure, and scalable cloud platforms. You'll play a key role in building and automating cloud infrastructure, improving deployment processes, and ensuring our systems remain highly available, secure, and cost-efficient.
Working alongside software engineers, DevOps specialists, and solution architects, you'll help create cloud-native environments that support business-critical applications at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and other cloud platforms.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines using cloud-native and third-party automation tools.
- Monitor cloud environments, proactively troubleshoot issues, and improve platform reliability and performance.
- Design highly available and disaster recovery solutions to maximise system resilience.
- Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, network segmentation, and access controls.
- Configure and optimise cloud networking, routing, connectivity, and load balancing.
- Continuously improve infrastructure automation, operational efficiency, and cloud cost optimisation.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and security teams to support cloud-based application delivery.
- Contribute to infrastructure standards, documentation, and platform best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern automation tools.
- Good understanding of AWS services and cloud-native infrastructure architecture.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts including VPCs, routing, DNS, VPNs, load balancers, and security groups.
- Experience implementing cloud security best practices, IAM, encryption, and compliance controls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, networking, and platform services.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or container orchestration platforms.
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and AWS managed services.
- Experience implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Exposure to cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices.
- Relevant AWS or cloud platform certifications.
