About the job

IQ‑EQ is currently seeking an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our Real Estate (RE) team. This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality financial services to our RE clients through accurate reporting, effective client relationship management, and adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Position Overview

The Senior Fund Accountant will oversee the financial servicing of a designated portfolio of RE clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of client reporting and other fund administration services. This position requires strong technical knowledge of RE fund structures, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to lead and guide junior team members. You will serve as the subject matter expert for assigned clients and contribute to continuous improvement of departmental processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day client relationships and ensure timely delivery of NAVs, Financial Statements, and reporting.
  • Review accounting outputs and oversee quarter‑end processes and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Back Office teams, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficient workflow management.
  • Maintain accurate client records, reconciled cash balances, and adherence to internal processes and controls.
  • Identify and report errors or breaches promptly, ensuring compliance with firm standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent, with 5+ years in real estate management or fund accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of consolidations, multi‑currency entities, and property‑related financial processes.
  • Proficiency with property systems (e.g., Yardi, Horizon) and ability to review third‑party management accounts.
  • Understanding of various income types, rent reconciliations, lease-related items, GST/tax, and capital allowances.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with senior management.
