Senior Full Stack Application Developer

What the day will look like

We are currently evolving our analytics platform with modern cloud, AI assisted development workflows, and richer data visualisation capabilities. You will play a key role in shaping these next generation tools. You will be expected to be a technical leader in the team, and mentor junior developers in their developer journey. Some people management may be required.
Working in a fully Agile Scrum/Kanban team, you will be exposed to a diverse range of technologies and like-minded people, all with the same mission - to ensure Aon remains the #1 data-driven broker in the world.


The main responsibilities will be:

  • Building and maintaining Single Page Applications (SPAs), using technologies such as Typescript, React, and D3.js.
  • Using C# to build API's both for specific application use, and more general use across the application estate.
  • Contributing to design, build, test & maintenance activities and be genuinely motivated by delivering solutions and issue resolutions to our business
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines as code
  • Promote and adhere to development standards through automation tooling and manual controls incl. JIRA, agile standards, code reviews and release automation, etc
  • Work with Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Business Analysts on the vision, design, requirements, and delivery of web-based analytics applications
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the functional and non-functional requirements of the application, how customers use it, and how best to serve these needs
  • Ensure effective operation of business systems through Level 3 support of application incidents, effectively triaging bugs, code/data fixes, testing & patching processes
  • Welcome the opportunity to assist and spread knowledge to other members of the team
  • Support QA in testing products and resolving found issues
  • Deliver and maintain solution/process documentation to an agreed level
  • Track and report on progress to Software Engineering Manager, Product Owners & Scrum Masters

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in development C#, Advanced React, Typescript
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Keenly interested in software development, staying up to date with current trends and able to translate those into solutions
  • Experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure), Serverless Architecture, Agile, DevOps (CI/CD) and database technologies
  • Someone with good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable and composed
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Working in a high-pressure environment
  • UI/UX experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modelling in analytics contexts.
  • A strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, including handson experience using AIassisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity, design quality, and engineering outcomes.
