Senior Frontend Developer Financial Markets

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver business-critical functionality for a global financial markets technology platform.

• Participate across the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through development, release and post-production support.

• Build new functionality while maintaining and evolving existing coding patterns, architecture and frameworks.

• Own and contribute to technical design for complex and ambiguous business requirements.

• Break down large projects into deliverable tasks, coordinate development activities and take ownership of consolidated delivery.

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers and business stakeholders across multiple locations.

• Coach and support other developers to improve code quality and delivery efficiency.

• Develop and maintain high-performance, real-time and event-driven applications across the full technology stack.

Skills Needed

• 7+ years of relevant software development experience.

• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript development experience with solid software design principles.

• Expert knowledge of React, Redux, RxJS, NPM/Yarn, Webpack, CSS, HTML and modern web technologies.

• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, coding standards and best practices.

• Experience designing and developing complex, real-time, event-driven and multi-modular single-page applications.

• Experience optimising performance for latency-sensitive systems.

• Full-stack development experience Java backend experience is preferred.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.

• Strong ability to design and develop solutions for complex or ambiguous business problems involving existing architecture or frameworks.

• Financial Markets experience, preferably within investment banking.

• Knowledge of derivatives products and e-trading technology.

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Experience driving requirements, development and end-to-end delivery of complex systems.

• Proactive, autonomous and self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills, ownership and ability to work with ambiguity.
