Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Lead the design and engineering of fire protection systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, and gas suppression systems, ensuring integration with ACMV and M&E systems.
2. Prepare detailed calculations, hydraulic analyses, schematics, and technical drawings in line with local standards and regulations.
3. Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, including detailed submissions and liaising with relevant authorities for approvals.
4. Manage fire protection projects from conception to completion, overseeing design, tendering, installation, and commissioning phases.
5. Conduct risk assessments, resolve on-site challenges, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
6. Oversee the testing and commissioning of fire protection systems, ensuring documentation meets Fire Safety Certificate requirements.
7. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and draftsmen, facilitating training sessions on fire safety codes and best practices.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or a related field.
2. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent (preferred).
3. Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering within the construction or ACMV/M&E sectors.
4. Demonstrated experience in large-scale projects, including commercial and infrastructure initiatives.
5. In-depth knowledge of local and international fire codes and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit/BIM.
6. Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects effectively.
