Summary - basic function of the role

The Financial Controller, Singapore serves as the countries accounting function and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting for the Singaporean entities. These entities are warehousing and selling products and provide services throughout the wider SEA region. This role contributes to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes supports technical accounting ensures adherence to global accounting policies supports strengthening internal controls and partners with leadership to drive financial excellence and operational efficiency throughout the region. The Financial Controller is a key partner to the Accounting Manager APAC & International Controller and plays an essential role in transformation, technology optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. Next to this the Financial Controller should also be able to work in a matrix organization and have regular interaction with the regional leadership who is located in the Singapore office, but as well with our Center of Excellence which is located in India.

Position Overview

This role oversees the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes supports technical accounting ensures adherence to global accounting policies supports on strengthening internal controls and partners with leadership to drive financial excellence and operational efficiency throughout the region. The Senior Financial Controller is a key partner to the Accounting Manager APAC & International Controller and plays an essential role in transformation, technology optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. Next to this the Senior Financial Controller should also be able to work in a matrix organization and have regular interaction with the local leadership who is located in the Singapore office, but as well with our Center of Excellence which is located in India.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Governance

  • Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, producing complete and accurate financial statements for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operational control activities of the warehouse in Singapore.
  • Review of accounting transactions, including the timely review and posting of journal entries and the timely completion and review of insightful balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls (SOX), as well as identify gaps/weaknesses in internal control structure and develop and implement controls as needed.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of financial, accounting, and internal control policies and procedures.
  • Is willing to gain knowledge of local laws and regulations.
  • Working together with external consultants and auditors.

Technical Accounting & Audit Management

  • Ability to research technical accounting guidance and implement new accounting policies. Stay informed of future changes to technical accounting guidance that could have an impact on the organization.
  • Participate in, and, in some cases, lead, both internal and external audit processes, ensuring the timely filing of audited financial statements in accordance with applicable statutory and regulatory deadlines.
  • Support the accounting manager in accounting components of regional M&A activities, integrations, restructuring, and system or process transformation initiatives.

Systems, Technology & Process Improvement

  • Provide oversight of OneStream and general ledger, including the management of users, roles and responsibilities, and maintenance.
  • Support system implementations, improvements and implement processes and procedures to more effectively and efficiently use technology.

Leadership, Cross‑Functional Partnership & Communication

  • Effectively communicate financial information to various stakeholders, including management, auditors and other departments.
  • Provide effective leadership to employees and teams by providing timely feedback, recognition, and coaching.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Commercial, HR, Operations, and other teams to support business decision‑making.
  • Communicate financial information and accounting implications clearly to non-financial stakeholders across the region.
  • Must be able to travel about 10% of the time and there will be other duties as assigned as we continue to evolve our business.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and regional statutory accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise with complex accounting matters and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with OneStream, ERP systems (Oracle), and Excel (or comparable analytics tools).
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, SOX, and regional compliance requirements.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams across multiple countries or locations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally at all levels of the organization Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships while managing competing priorities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility. Experience in manufacturing, services or industrial environments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with M&A integration or finance transformation is desirable.
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid‑tier) strongly preferred.
