Job Description

The AVP, Distribution Compensation & Analytics is responsible for overseeing distribution compensation reporting, sales analytics, business performance reporting and operational support for the Business Development function. The role provides timely, accurate and meaningful management information to support strategic decision-making, administers agency compensation and financing schemes, and drives continuous improvements in reporting processes through data analytics and automation.

The incumbent will work closely with Business Development, Finance and other internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of sales reporting, compensation administration and business performance analysis while maintaining compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements

Key Responsibilities

Distribution Compensation & Sales Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation, maintenance and distribution of regular sales performance reports, including Annual Awards, MDRT qualification, Gross Revenue, financing schemes and incentive eligibility.
  • Manage the annual administration of MDRT matters, including

Creation of registration pages and submission processes

  • Verification and maintenance of supporting documents
  • Preparation of certification letters for MDRT membership submission
  • Maintain accurate financing scheme records and provide monthly updates for all representatives
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation, electronic filing and record management for Business Development-related reports, agreements, approvals and correspondence
  • Extract, validate and cleanse sales and compensation data for daily, weekly and monthly reporting requirements
  • Develop a strong understanding of the distribution network structure and structural movements to ensure accurate reporting and analysis
  • Lead the quarterly monitoring and reporting of ICCSC requirements

Business Analytics

  • Develop, maintain and enhance management reports and dashboards to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Analyse key sales performance indicators (KPIs), production trends and distribution performance to provide actionable business insights.
  • Apply knowledge of life insurance products, compensation structures and distribution practices to ensure accurate interpretation and execution of reporting requirements.
  • Design and customise reports to meet the needs of various stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Support financial forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis for Business Development initiatives
  • Recommend and implement reporting enhancements to improve efficiency, data quality and user experience

Agency Compensation

  • Oversee compensation reporting and administration for the distribution network.
  • Support financial matters relating to agency compensation, including budgeting, expense monitoring, payment processing and financial analysis
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure timely and accurate processing of compensation-related payments
  • Manage enquiries relating to financing schemes, incentive programmes and compensation reporting.
  • Provide analysis on distribution performance, sales productivity and business initiatives to support management decisions

Process Improvement & System Support

  • Drive the transformation of manual reporting processes through automation and digital solutions using Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate and other reporting tools.
  • Review and improve existing reporting processes to enhance operational efficiency, reporting accuracy and turnaround time.
  • Support system testing, validation and data verification activities to ensure system functionality and data integrity.
  • Promote best practices in data governance, reporting standards and documentation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Business Development, Distribution Support Unit (DSU), Finance, Partnerships and other internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with financial advisory representatives, agency leaders and external vendors on compensation, reporting and operational matters where required.
  • Provide support and guidance on reporting, compensation and distribution-related enquiries.
  • Provide cross-functional support and operational coverage across Distribution Support functions when required.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable MAS regulations, internal policies and governance requirements relating to distribution compensation and reporting activities.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit readiness for all reporting and compensation processes.
  • Successfully complete Fit & Proper assessments annually or whenever required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5- 7 years of relevant working experience in the Life Insurance or Financial Advisory industry.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance distribution structures, agency compensation frameworks and financing schemes.
  • Experience in business reporting, data analytics and management information reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Power Automate is highly preferred.
  • Experience in data analytics, reporting automation or IT-related projects will be an added advantage.
