Job Overview

The newsroom is seeking candidate to provide strong administrative and operational support while contributing to project management, research, and budget planning work.

This role is critical in enabling newsroom teams to operate efficiently and meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be highly organised, dependable in execution, and bring prior experience in analytical, planning, or project-based work, while being comfortable anchoring the team through hands-on administrative support.

Working closely with editorial, operations, and corporate stakeholders, this role supports both day-to-day newsroom operations and longer-term initiatives that require coordination, structure, and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

Core Administrative & Operational Support

  • Manage travel arrangements for editorial team.
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders, track invoices, and support payment processes in compliance with corporate governance requirements
  • Provide logistics support for newsroom activities, events, and projects
  • Act as a reliable operational point of contact to ensure smooth day-to-day execution

Other Support

  • Support project management activities, including project planning, timelines, tracking of deliverables, and coordination across teams
  • Assist in budget planning, cost tracking, and expenditure monitoring for projects, events, and initiatives
  • Identify, evaluate, and support the adoption of relevant technologies and tools that enhance newsroom workflows, productivity, and future readiness
  • Work with stakeholders to incorporate technology-enabled solutions into projects and processes, helping the newsroom adapt to evolving operational and digital needs

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Degree in any discipline.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in administrative, operations, project support, or editorial roles
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical, research, project coordination, or budget-related work
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with purchase order processes, budgeting, and basic financial controls
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other applications that helps with efficiency
  • Experience supporting projects in media or newsroom environments
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines and evolving priorities
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders
  • Practical, solutions-oriented mindset
