About the Role
This role is key in executing lifecycle marketing strategies to drive user retention, engagement, and revenue growth for our newspaper publications. You will take ownership of campaigns and initiatives from planning through execution, work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and use data insights to optimise performance.
Ideal for candidates with prior marketing experience, this position offers the opportunity to work independently while contributing to strategic retention and engagement goals.
Roles and Key Responsibilities
Campaign & Content Execution
- Manage and execute lifecycle marketing campaigns across email, owned channels and paid media.
- Oversee the creation of reader engagement newsletters, coordinating content with editorial and creative teams.
- Lead selected subscriber engagement initiatives end-to-end.
Engagement & Retention Support
- Assist in implementing lifecycle marketing initiatives aimed at reducing churn and improving subscriber retention.
- Support retention and conversion campaigns, including managing offer set-up, tracking results, and reporting performance.
- Help manage promotional mechanics for campaigns such as free trials, premium gifts, or exclusive deals.
- Assist in conducting market research, competitor analysis, and user behavior analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Operational & Data Analysis Support
- Maintain and analyse campaign tracking sheets to identify trends and improvement areas.
- Conduct A/B tests, monitor results, and present actionable insights.
- Analyse market, competitor, and subscriber data to recommend new engagement strategies.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Act as the main liaison with internal teams (editorial, creative, audience growth, rewards) for campaign delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors and external partners to ensure campaign fulfillment.
- Work closely with the performance marketing team for paid media.
Who we are looking for
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Must be familiar with social media platforms.
- Familiarity with marketing tools (e.g., Emarsys, Google Analytics, Tableau) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
- Passion for marketing and a desire to develop a career in lifecycle marketing.
- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- 13 years relevant marketing experience preferred.
