As Senior Executive,Community Inclusion & Engagement, you will lead efforts to reach out and promote inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment for persons with disabilities (PwDs) while also managing partnerships with social service agencies, government services and businesses.
You will drive outreach efforts, train stakeholders, build the community capacity and resources to support the needs or aspirations of PwDs and develop collaborative initiatives. In so doing, you will leverage on partners to improve and increase PWD reach.
Partnership Development
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain strategic partnerships with social service agencies, government services, businesses and other stakeholders to advance disability inclusion efforts and improve PWD outreach.
- Collaborate with partners to develop joint initiatives, programs and campaigns that promote accessibility, inclusion, and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.
- Attend workgroups, meetings and networking sessions as needed.
Outreach & Public Awareness Building
- Drive outreach efforts in the community and the precinct.
- Raise awareness about the challenges, experiences, and contributions of individuals with disabilities through outreach events, networking, and educational initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders, including public services, community or grassroots leaders, and businesses, to promote inclusive practices and policies.
Capacity Building and Training:
- Develop and deliver training sessions on disability awareness, inclusion, and etiquette for community, grassroots members, organizations, and service providers.
- Coach agencies and partners on disability awareness, communication, and inclusive event management.
Resource Referral and Support:
- Provide information, guidance, and support to individuals with disabilities and their families regarding available community resources, services, and relevant information.
- Connect individuals with disabilities to relevant support networks, agencies and government schemes.
Community Engagement and Collaboration
- Tap on community partner organizations and their events or activities to include PwDs, caregivers.
- Organize joint events and workshops to foster dialogue, networking, and collaboration around disability and inclusion issues.
Accessibility and Accommodation
- Collaborate with partners to improve accessibility and accommodation support in activities and transactions with PwDs.
- Provide guidance and support to organizations and event organizers on making their activities inclusive and accessible.
Other Duties
- Any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer.
JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in social work, sociology, or psychology.
- Experience in partnership development, community engagement, and project management, preferably in a social service agency or a community-based organization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
- Experience in marketing communications, working in a disability organization, advocating, public relations, or event planning is a strong advantage.
- The role requires working on weekday evenings and/or weekends.
