In this role, the candidate will drive student engagement and integration initiatives, with a focus on supporting international students and scholarship holders in their transition, wellbeing, and participation in campus life. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate engagement and integration initiatives (e.g., welcome sessions, orientation programmes, and wellbeing activities) for students and scholarship holders. This includes end-to-end project delivery, tracking outcomes, and supporting students and scholars who co-lead these initiatives.
- Build and maintain partnerships with students, faculty, residences, internal units, alumni, and community partners to strengthen and scale integration efforts across campus. This includes supporting student-, faculty-, and residence-led initiatives, as well as curating meaningful engagement opportunities.
- Provide coordination and advisory support to stakeholders (e.g., students, faculty, residence staff, and student groups) on integration initiatives. Serve as a key point of contact for integration-related resources and funding; and develop toolkits and training materials to build capability.
- Support the engagement and wellbeing of scholarship holders by acting as a key point of contact. Address enquiries and issues; and facilitate referrals to appropriate wellbeing and integration resources within NUS.
- Guide and support student interest groups involved in cultural, faith-based, and/or ethnic activities, as well as those leading integration-related efforts.
- Manage programme reporting, data, and evaluation, including the preparation and submission of MOE reports. Analyse quantitative and qualitative data, and present insights and findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Support operational and strategic priorities by maintaining records, contributing to work planning with the Section Head, and collaborating on cross-functional projects and committees within OSA.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in social sciences, education, public policy, communications, or related disciplines. Some experience in student development, intercultural competence, programme evaluation, or higher education administration will be an advantage, although not mandatory.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in student engagement, programme management, higher education administration, or community development, preferably in a multicultural or international student context.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end programme/project management, including planning, stakeholder coordination, execution, budgeting, risk management, and post-programme evaluation.
- Proven ability to engage, influence, and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders (e.g. students, faculty, residences, external partners).
- Experience in data-driven programme evaluation, including designing metrics, analysing quantitative and qualitative data, and preparing reports for senior management or external stakeholders.
- Strong intercultural competence and sensitivity, with experience supporting international, culturally diverse, or scholarship students, including handling wellbeing concerns and referrals.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent programmes, timelines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), survey and data tools (e.g., Qualtrics), and digital engagement platforms; familiarity with dashboards or data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) is an advantage.
- Flexibility to support occasional events outside regular office hours (evenings and weekends) is required.
