AXA Life and Health Reinsurance Solutions Pte Ltd (ALHRS) is a transversal Group entity that provides a gateway for its clients (whether a life/non-life insurer, an MGA/MGU or their reinsurance brokers) to access AXA's global Life & Health reinsurance capabilities. We are licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a reinsurance broker focusing on health and life risks. We can only advise on reinsurance capacity provided by AXA-owned reinsurers (AXA Health UK, AXA France, AXA XL, etc). Purpose of the Role

  • This role involves providing actuarial advice and services, particularly with respect to technical pricing for reinsurance treaties, to meet the strategic goals of the company
  • A typical day on the job will require you to work on the development and maintenance of actuarial models, conduct actuarial analyses by leveraging on both in-house data and external sources, and contribute to development of new opportunities
  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated to be responsible for high standards of performance, with an open mind to new product design ideas

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct experience studies, rate adequacy analysis and financial projections on reinsurance partnerships
  • Present findings from technical pricing work to senior actuarial management
  • Adhere to the Actuarial Control Cycle and compliance with ALHRS Pricing Standards through proper documentation of all pricing tasks
  • Work closely with Underwriters, Partnership Development Managers and Claims Team
  • Assist Reporting and Analytics actuaries by supplying assumptions for budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist with projects related to the updating and maintenance of both the pricing tools and rate-making methodology
  • Keep abreast to local developments within both the life and health insurance market and international actuarial practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

  • Candidate with Mathematics/Actuarial or any related degree background
  • Progress towards pursuing a professional actuarial qualification with a recognized actuarial body
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working in an actuarial role, preferably in Short-Term Life and Health Insurance. Candidates with lesser experience will be considered at Executive level
  • Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or business-related field
  • Proficient in MS Office, VBA, SQL and a high degree of comfort working with large datasets is preferred
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
