Senior Event Carpenter / Carpentry Team Lead

H.A.M. Creations Pte Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Event Carpenter / Carpentry Team Lead to lead our carpentry team in the fabrication and installation of event, exhibition, retail and visual merchandising projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking projects from technical drawings to workshop fabrication and final on-site installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and production workers.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions and fabrication details.

• Work closely with designers and project managers to understand design requirements and identify practical construction methods.

• Plan and organise fabrication work, including materials, manpower and work sequence.

• Carry out hands-on carpentry and fabrication works using timber, plywood, laminates and other materials.

• Fabricate customised event structures, display units, counters, partitions, platforms, backdrops and retail fixtures.

• Check measurements, dimensions, alignment, finishing and overall workmanship.

• Troubleshoot fabrication and installation issues and provide practical solutions.

• Lead the team during on-site installation, modification and dismantling works.

• Ensure projects are completed according to drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

• Coordinate with other production and site teams during installation.

• Train and guide junior carpenters to improve their technical skills and workmanship.

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of carpentry tools, machinery and equipment.

• Maintain a safe and organised workshop and work site.

• Follow workplace safety requirements and ensure team members adhere to safe working practices.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant carpentry experience, preferably in event production, exhibition, retail display, shopfitting or interior fabrication.

• Previous experience leading or supervising a carpentry team.

• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Able to work independently from drawings and translate designs into practical fabrication solutions.

• Good knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials and construction methods.

• Proficient in using carpentry hand tools and power tools.

• Able to take accurate measurements and perform on-site adjustments when required.

• Strong attention to detail and good workmanship.

• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight project deadlines.

• Good communication and team leadership skills.

• Physically fit and comfortable with workshop and site-based work.

• Willing to work overtime, including occasional night work for event installations and dismantling.

• Candidates with experience in event, exhibition, retail display or visual merchandising projects will have an advantage.
