Senior Environmental Consultant - Aquatic Ecologist

About the Role

  • Up till $7000 basic + Phone allowance ($80 -$100 reimbursement) + Variable Bonus + AWS
  • Jurong East
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
  • Must have experience in marine ecologist

Our Client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Environmental Consultant - Aquatic Ecologist to join our expanding Ecology and Biodiversity Management Team. Based in Singapore, you will contribute to diverse projects across the ASEAN region, supporting baseline ecological surveys, due diligence, and impact assessments in some of the region's most dynamic and sensitive ecosystems.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and delivering high-quality aquatic ecological assessments.
  • Working closely with our experienced multidisciplinary team, you will support environmental planning, regulatory compliance, and the achievement of sustainable development outcomes.
  • Plan and conduct aquatic ecological surveys across diverse landscapes and water bodies.
  • Identify regional aquatic flora and fauna, assess habitats, and map ecological communities.
  • Contribute to baseline ecological surveys, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze field data and produce clear, scientifically robust technical reports.
  • Liaise with clients, partners, and government agencies throughout Southeast Asia.
  • Stay up to date with local and regional environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Support the design and implementation of biodiversity monitoring programs.
  • Develop and lead proposal writing, project scoping, and business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Biology, Aquatic Ecology, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Zoology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in aquatic ecology, preferably within the ASEAN region.
  • Strong expertise in species identification and ecological fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with biodiversity-related legislation and frameworks in Southeast Asia.
  • Experience with the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) and similar spatial or ecological assessment tools.
  • Proficiency in GIS and ecological data management tools.
  • Strong skills in statistical analysis, including multivariate methods and ecological data interpretation.
  • Experience in ecological surveys, habitat restoration, or biodiversity offsetting.
  • Possession of relevant permits or licenses for ecological survey work within the region.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement for ecological projects.
