About the Role:

The Senior Enterprise Architect for ERP is responsible for creating a forward-looking technology strategy and roadmap for ERP. This role translates the business vision and objectives into ERP-related technology initiatives and investments while influencing senior business and IT stakeholders to align with their vision. Additionally, the Senior Enterprise Architect oversees architecture resources to design and refine the strategy and roadmap within their domain, ensuring the delivery of architecture principles that support effective design and implementation.



ERP System Design and Architecture

  • Lead the design and development of ERP system architecture to align with the organization's business requirements and long-term objectives.
  • Define the integration architecture for ERP modules, ensuring seamless communication and efficient data flow across various functional areas.
  • Assess and select ERP software solutions based on technical requirements, scalability, and alignment with the organization's business needs.
  • Create detailed architectural blueprints and technical documentation, including system configurations, module specifications, interfaces, and data structures.

ERP Technology Roadmap and Strategy

  • Partner with senior management and stakeholders to develop an ERP technology roadmap that aligns with the organization's business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize existing ERP capabilities and recommend innovative solutions to address business challenges.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments for proposed technology investments and system upgrades.
  • Offer technical leadership and guidance during ERP system implementations, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and standards.

ERP Integration and Interoperability

  • Design and manage the integration of ERP systems with other enterprise applications to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Define and enforce standards and protocols for data exchange and interoperability between ERP modules and external systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement integration solutions and address technical challenges during integration phases.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure efficient data transfer and processing across integrated platforms.

ERP Performance Optimization and Scalability

  • Establish performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor and enhance the efficiency of ERP systems.
  • Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to support business growth and increased user demand.
  • Develop and implement performance tuning strategies, recommending infrastructure upgrades to improve system responsiveness and reliability.
  • Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure hardware and network resources align with ERP system requirements and performance standards.

Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management (SCM)

  • Assess current Manufacturing and SCM processes, systems, and technologies to identify opportunities for ERP-driven improvements and innovation.
  • Evaluate and select Manufacturing and SCM technologies, platforms, and ERP-related solutions that align with organizational needs, scalability requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Ensure Manufacturing and SCM ERP strategies align with Enterprise Architecture principles, emphasizing scalability, integration, and alignment with business continuity plans.
  • Lead the design and development of Manufacturing and SCM ERP system architecture, including seamless integration with broader ERP systems.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on technology adoption, integration approaches, and phased deployment plans based on risk assessments and business impact analyses.

What we are looking for:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect, with a strong focus on Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and ERP systems.
  • Multi-year operational experience in S/4HANA Architecture, including active involvement in architectural work for S/4HANA implementations.
  • Active membership in SAP Enterprise Architecture forums (preferred).
  • Experience in the Medical Technology industry, either within a MedTech company or a Life Science Consulting firm (preferred).
  • Extensive experience with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), Zachman, or similar.
  • Strong expertise in software engineering and design architecture.
  • Significant experience in defining architecture policies and frameworks.
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management, process modeling, data modeling, and systems analysis.
  • Proven ability to contribute to business-aligned technology strategies.
  • Expert knowledge of technology integrations.
  • A solid understanding of technology security and regulatory requirements.
  • Awareness of emerging technology trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of business processes within the assigned domain, preferably in medical-related fields.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience managing staff, including conducting work reviews, performance evaluations, and providing day-to-day coaching.
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and executive stakeholders across multiple geographies.
