Senior Engineering Manager

Position Overview

The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering department within the IBMS/BMS and integration domain, ensuring technical excellence, quality delivery, and seamless integration of various building systems with new technologies. This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and strategic business acumen to manage large-scale projects, mentor teams, and strengthen client relationships.

A.Technical Knowledge: (Specific to our domain such as IBM)

. Deep understanding of IBMS/BMS architecture (controllers such as PLCs and DDCs, sensors, gateways, servers, SCADA and HMIs).

. Knowledge of various protocols: BACnet, Modbus, OPC, KNX, MQTT, etc.

. Knowledge and experience in integration technologies and solutions such as integrating ACMV, lighting, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, energy management etc.

. Familiarity with cybersecurity practices in BAS/IBMS.

. Ability to interpret control sequences, functional design specifications (FDS), and cause-effect matrices.

. Experience in project lifecycle: design review installation testing commissioning handover. Installation is the responsibility of Project team, but it is beneficial for the Engineering manager to understand it.

. Ability to manage FAT, SAT, IST, and performance testing.

. Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, ISO, NFPA, LEED, WELL).

. Knowledge of documentation control (as-builts, O&M manuals, test reports).

B.Leadership & Team Management

. Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team (engineers, programmers, T&C staff, documentation).

. Skills in resource planning, task delegation, and mentoring junior engineers.

. Conflict resolution and managing cross-functional teams (coordination with project team, Service team, and contractors on site for technical interactions).

. Effective communication skills for presenting technical concepts to Engineering team and to the clients.

. Experience in managing consultants, contractors, and vendors for Engineering related activities.

. Ability to build trust and drive client satisfaction.

C.Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen

. Understanding of emerging technologies (IoT, cloud-based IBMS, AI-driven analytics etc).

. Ability to align engineering work with company's commercial objectives.

. Awareness of market trends and vendor ecosystems.
