Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing all the activities from the enquiry to delivery of the Telecommunication systems for FPSO Topsides as part of the Telecom team
- Responsible for the preparation of Telecom equipment philosophy, specifications, and datasheets including all the multi discipline requirements
- Responsible for the preparation of Enquiry and Purchase Requisitions with all the applicable attachments
- Responsible for the Technical Bid Evaluation of the vendor offers and recommendation for Telecom packages
- Responsible for handling the post-PO activities such as vendor drawing review, vendor performance monitoring, participating in the FAT and ensuring timely delivery
- Responsible for the review of Telecom packages design in compliance with Class/ IMO/SOLAS/MODU regulations
- Responsible to review Telecom Equipment Layout, Cable Ladder/Tray, MCT/Coaming, Telecom room layout and other Telecom outfitting drawings
- Interface management with other engineering disciplines and other departments such as supply chain, quality assurance, construction and commissioning
- Participating actively in the workshops such as Sound coverage, Link budget, Satellite bandwidth, etc.
- Coordinate the review of Telecom deliverables submitted by the contractors and ensure timely return with appropriate approval code
- Work with the Telecom Lead and issue the assigned deliverables as per project schedule
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunication or Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the design of FPSO and Oil and Gas projects
- Experience in handling Telecom system delivery for at least one project
- Experience in FEED and Execution phases of the project
- Experience in Yard support, FPSO start-up and Operations support will be an added advantage
Skills:
- Familiarity with the relevant international standards and class rules
- Familiarity with smart tools will be an added advantage
- Proactive and able to work independently and as part of the team, applying a structured and systematic approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to actively participate in the workshops
- Ability to handle contractors effectively and deliver high quality work on time
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environment
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization
- Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
