As a Senior Engineer, Technical Sourcing Engineering (TSE) – Plastic, you'll help drive the technical strategy for plastics products and sourcing.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead alternate, dual, and resourcing initiatives with suppliers
  • Manage Supplier Change Request (SCR) resolution to completion and First Article submission to approval
  • Support product scale-up and capacity expansion
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plastics-related quality issues
  • Contribute to cost savings and productivity improvements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on New Product Introductions (NPI)

A Day in the Life

You'll work closely with teams across R&D, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Regulatory, Product Management, and Operations.

Your work may span the full product lifecycle—from early concept through end-of-life.

You'll engage with a range of manufacturing processes, including:

  • Injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and extrusion
  • Secondary processes such as pad printing, plasma treatment, and sterilization

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, collaborating across teams, and working hands-on with plastics manufacturing and tooling.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, new product development, tooling, or manufacturing

Skills & Experience

Core Skills

  • Experience addressing molding and processing challenges
  • Familiarity with tooling design and plastics manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with sourcing or procurement
  • Familiarity with SAP, Agile, or Oracle systems
  • Experience in regulated industries (biotech, pharmaceutical, etc.)
  • Exposure to secondary operations and sterilization processes

Additional Information

  • Travel: Up to 15% (domestic and international)
  • This position does not offer relocation benefits
