As a
Senior Engineer, Technical Sourcing Engineering (TSE) – Plastic, you'll help drive the technical strategy for plastics products and sourcing.
In this role, you will:
- Lead alternate, dual, and resourcing initiatives with suppliers
- Manage Supplier Change Request (SCR) resolution to completion and First Article submission to approval
- Support product scale-up and capacity expansion
- Troubleshoot and resolve plastics-related quality issues
- Contribute to cost savings and productivity improvements
- Partner with cross-functional teams on New Product Introductions (NPI)
A Day in the Life
You'll work closely with teams across R&D, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Regulatory, Product Management, and Operations.
Your work may span the full product lifecycle—from early concept through end-of-life.
You'll engage with a range of manufacturing processes, including:
- Injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and extrusion
- Secondary processes such as pad printing, plasma treatment, and sterilization
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, collaborating across teams, and working hands-on with plastics manufacturing and tooling.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in product design, new product development, tooling, or manufacturing
Skills & Experience
Core Skills
- Experience addressing molding and processing challenges
- Familiarity with tooling design and plastics manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with sourcing or procurement
- Familiarity with SAP, Agile, or Oracle systems
- Experience in regulated industries (biotech, pharmaceutical, etc.)
- Exposure to secondary operations and sterilization processes
