Role Summary
The role will translate complex photonic integration technology — the Optical Interposer platform, PICs, optical engines, and light source products — into clear, compelling technical content and positioning that supports sales, partnerships, and industry visibility across the AI data center, telecom, and hyperscale computing markets.
This is a hands-on role requiring both technical fluency in photonics/optical communications and strong marketing communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical marketing collateral — datasheets, application notes, white papers, technical briefs, and presentations — for the Optical Interposer platform and related products (PICs, optical engines, transceivers, light sources), and translate engineering specifications and lab/test data into customer-facing technical narratives that clearly communicate performance advantages (speed, power, cost, integration density).
- Work closely with Engineering and R&D to develop a deep understanding of POET's products, technologies, and capabilities, ensuring accurate and compelling technical messaging, and support product launches, roadmap communications, and competitive positioning with Product Management.
- Provide technical support to customers on how to use POET products, and collaborate with Engineering to support customers during product evaluation, testing, and qualification, addressing application-specific challenges to ensure successful adoption.
- Assist Sales and Business Development teams with customer-facing technical presentations, RFI/RFQ responses, and application-specific positioning.
- Support trade shows, industry conferences (e.g., OFC, ECOC, DesignCon), and webinars with technical content, demo materials, and booth support.
- Create and maintain technical content for the company website, LinkedIn, and press/analyst materials, in coordination with Investor Relations and Corporate Communications.
- Support development of case studies and reference designs in partnership with key customers and ecosystem partners (e.g., foundry, hyperscaler, and module partners).
- Monitor and report on the competitive landscape, industry trends (CPO, AI interconnect, 800G/1.6T standards), and customer feedback to inform marketing and product strategy.
- Collaborate with global teams (Singapore, China, and San Jose) to ensure consistent technical messaging across regions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics/Optics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- 2–6 years of experience in technical marketing, product marketing, or applications engineering within semiconductors, photonics, optical communications, or related high-tech hardware industries.
- Strong understanding of optical/photonic concepts (e.g., PICs, transceivers, optical engines, interposers) or comparable semiconductor packaging/integration technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to translate technical details into accessible, persuasive content.
- Experience producing datasheets, technical briefs, or application notes.
- Proficiency with presentation and content tools (PowerPoint, technical writing platforms); comfort collaborating with design/creative teams.
