Job Description

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform Naval Architecture engineering for FPSO Hull across Concept, Pre‑FEED, FEED, Execution, and Operation stages
  • Ensure all naval architecture decisions support safety, operability, maintainability, and compliance with regulations
  • Develop hull design basis, naval architecture design philosophy and standards
  • Provide guidance, management, oversight, and technical support to shipyards and engineering companies
  • Develop and review key naval architecture deliverables, including stability analysis, motion analysis, green water assessments, mooring & riser interface evaluations, and global performance studies
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
  • Support CAPEX estimation, construction schedule development, and project risk assessments
  • Make balanced technical decisions considering quality, cost, schedule, constructability and interface with topside, turret, mooring and riser

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Naval Architecture for FPSOs, offshore structures, or shipbuilding
  • Strong experience in basic design, stability, hydrodynamics, weight estimation, hull global performance
  • Experience working with both shipyard and FPSO contractor environments preferred
  • Strong preference for experience in bid & proposal, Pre‑FEED, FEED, and CAPEX estimation
  • Strong preference for experience in both New-building and Conversion projects

Skills:

  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multidiscipline teams
  • Effective stakeholder management across Clients, shipyards, internal teams and suppliers
  • Ability to work independently while supporting and collaborating with broader project teams
  • Solid understanding of FPSO design principles and industry practices, Class rules and international standards (ABS, DNV, IMO, etc.)
  • Understanding of hydrodynamics, stability regulations, vessel operation, and marine risk principles
  • Familiarity with construction methods, commissioning, and offshore integration
  • Proficiency in naval architectural software for stability, hydrodynamic analysis, mooring analysis, and global performance, such as DNV Sesam, GeniE, HydroD, OrcaFlex, MOSES, ABS Eagle FPSO
