Requisition ID: 112780-0
Senior Engineer II (Hardware Design)
Job Responsibilities
- Define power supply architectures (AC/DC and DC/DC) for data centre servers and rack-level systems, optimizing for maximum efficiency and power density.
- Design system power trees, and perform power budgeting calculations. Determine thermal power budget and work with thermal engineers to provide thermal solutions.
- Design and select power supply solutions for high DC input voltage from 12-400V to the desired high current low voltages for digital circuitries.
- Analyze power supply conversion efficiency, calculate, thermal dissipation, and perform loss budgeting for switching devices, magnetic, and passive components.
- Perform schematic capture and guide PCB layouts to minimize EMI/EMC and ensure signal/power integrity.
- Conduct rigorous simulations for power conversion efficiency, thermal management, and magnetic design.
- Perform board bring-up, characterize designs and validate power consumption against calculated budget, and execute lab testing.
- Work with firmware, mechanical and thermal design teams to ensure power supply solutions meet physical and cooling constraints.
- Ensure designs meet international safety and regulatory requirements and align with Open Compute Project (OCP) standards.
- Work with cross functional and manufacturing team to resolve design issues and to support production problems
- Provide technical expertise and consultation to peers
- Maintain consistent high quality of engineering design work to develop robust, high performance and cost effective designs and products
- Meet project schedules and budgets
- Perform additional duties as assigned
