Purpose
- The Geotechnical engineer is responsible for the study and review of the natural environment before a construction work takes places. The reviewing of surrounding minerals and materials and helping to design projects based on findings
Key Responsibility Areas
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed design in Geotechnical field for different nature of projects
- Develop design concepts and construction methodologies and provide leadership in sectional project execution
- To liaise with Client, Client's Consultants, Contractor, and Local Authorities to obtain design approval
- Assist Division Head in maintaining high quality standards of design and construction
- Assist Division Head in the management of division employees
- Responsible to participate and support the Company's SHEQ within their scope of duties
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering (with appropriate experience)
- Competent in Plaxis 2D and 3D (preferred), Eurocodes and familiar with LTA and BCA standards
- Minimum 3 years relevant geotechnical design experience in deep excavations, tunnelling and project management gained within a technical consultancy
- Experience in pile design, temporary works (ERSS), ground models, groundwater control, instrumentation and monitoring, and construction supervision
- Experience in working collaboratively in seamless teams to build consensus and confident and willing to interface with other discipline leads
- Proven track record in large scale geotechnical and underground engineering design and construction projects and able to clearly communicate designs to other professionals
