Senior Electrical Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Lead electrical design and engineering works, including preparation of calculations (e.g., voltage drop, short circuit analysis, load schedules), single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic drawings, and technical documentation.
2. Plan, coordinate, and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
3. Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams (e.g., ACMV, BMS, architectural, civil) to resolve technical issues and ensure effective design coordination.
4. Conduct site inspections and technical reviews, including evaluation of method statements and risk assessments, to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
5. Review and approve shop drawings, material submissions, and as-built documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
6. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and project teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
7. Monitor project progress and performance, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective measures to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
8. Utilise and coordinate BIM models, participate in clash detection, and ensure proper integration of electrical systems within the overall project design.

Requirements

1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
2. Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in electrical design and project execution (construction/building services preferred).
3. Good knowledge of electrical systems and local codes/standards (e.g., power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, SS standards).
4. Experience in project coordination and site supervision, including working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
5. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit (BIM) and MS Office, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
