We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to take on a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems with a focus on electrical and power system. The Lead Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of high-impact projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in electrical engineering principles, robotics power systems, and energy management, and will play a key role in shaping our organisation's strategic direction in these areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design, development, and integration of wire harness solutions for various projects, ensuring optimal functionality, reliability, and safety.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of engineers focused on wire harness design and integration.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and designers, to integrate wire harnesses seamlessly into comprehensive product designs.
  • Create detailed wire harness schematics, diagrams, and layout plans using industry-standard design tools e.g. E3.series, SOLIDWORKS Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, etc.)
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing of wire harnesses, identifying potential issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Lead the selection of appropriate wiring materials, connectors, and components while considering factors such as performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the wire harness design and development process.
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source necessary components and materials for wire harnesses, maintaining relationships and monitoring quality.
  • Provide technical support during the manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases, troubleshooting and resolving any wiring-related issues.
  • Document all wire harness design and testing activities meticulously, including creating technical reports, specifications, and installation instructions.
  • Contribute to project planning, defining scope, objectives, and timelines related to wire harness design and integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Master's degree is a plus.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering with a strong focus on wire harness design and integration.
  • Extensive expertise in using industry-standard electrical design software and tools, including proficiency in CAD software for creating wiring diagrams and layouts.
  • Deep understanding of electrical principles, circuit theory, and wire harness design practices.
  • Proven history of successful wire harness design projects, demonstrating the ability to manage complexity and deliver results.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, cultivating a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex wiring-related issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and codes relevant to wire harness design and electrical systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality work.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will primarily work in an office environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and overseeing projects. Occasional travel to manufacturing sites or client locations may be required. The role may involve hands-on work during testing, prototyping, or troubleshooting phases, which might expose the engineer to certain hazards and physical demands. Appropriate safety protocols and protective equipment will be provided as necessary.
