About the Opportunity
Our client is a global technology and advanced manufacturing organization seeking an experienced procurement leader to oversee strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement governance activities across a global manufacturing network.
Reporting to senior leadership, this role will be responsible for driving sourcing strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships, optimizing procurement performance, and ensuring long-term supply resilience. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting operational growth, managing supply risks, and delivering sustainable value across complex global supply chains.
This position requires a strong blend of commercial leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and deep experience within advanced manufacturing or technology-driven industries.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Develop and implement long-term sourcing and category management strategies that support business growth, operational requirements, and market developments.
- Monitor industry trends, supplier capabilities, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions to achieve optimal cost, quality, service, and delivery outcomes.
- Drive supplier diversification initiatives to improve supply continuity and reduce dependency risks.
- Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships through structured governance and performance management frameworks.
Procurement Excellence & Cost Optimization
- Identify and implement procurement initiatives that improve cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, and overall value creation.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations involving pricing structures, service agreements, capacity commitments, and long-term supply arrangements.
- Evaluate procurement opportunities using total cost of ownership principles and data-driven decision-making methodologies.
- Ensure procurement activities align with business objectives, financial targets, and operational priorities.
Capital Equipment & Investment Procurement
- Partner with business and operational stakeholders to support sourcing activities related to capital investments and manufacturing infrastructure.
- Lead supplier evaluation processes, commercial assessments, and procurement recommendations for strategic projects.
- Ensure governance standards are maintained throughout procurement and investment approval processes.
- Support capital expenditure planning through effective supplier engagement and sourcing strategies.
Supply Chain Risk Management
- Develop proactive risk management strategies to address supply constraints, geopolitical challenges, logistics disruptions, and market volatility.
- Establish contingency plans and resilience programs to safeguard operational continuity.
- Monitor supplier performance and risk indicators to identify emerging issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement and sourcing organization.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Drive capability development across procurement disciplines, including sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations, analytics, and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide regular updates, insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or commercial leadership roles.
- Proven track record leading large-scale procurement programs within manufacturing, technology, electronics, or industrial sectors.
- Strong experience developing category strategies, managing supplier ecosystems, and leading high-value commercial negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance, contract management, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical, financial, and commercial acumen.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience within semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, advanced technology, or precision engineering industries.
- Exposure to global supply chains and multinational supplier networks.
- Experience managing procurement activities related to manufacturing equipment, technical materials, or industrial infrastructure.
- Knowledge of procurement analytics, cost modelling, and strategic supplier development programs.
