Senior Director, General Counsel, APAC

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Legal Leadership

• Lead and oversee all legal matters across APAC jurisdictions.

• Provide strategic legal advice to regional executives and senior management.

• Align regional legal strategy with global corporate governance frameworks.

• Serve as a trusted advisor on business expansion, restructuring, and strategic initiatives.

2. Commercial & Corporate Legal Support

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including:

  • Customer and supplier contracts

  • Strategic partnerships and joint ventures

  • Logistics, technology, and service agreements

• Support mergers & acquisitions, investments, and corporate restructuring activities.

• Advise on cross-border transactions and regional legal implications.

3. Compliance, Risk & Governance

• Establish and maintain robust compliance and governance frameworks.

• Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations across APAC markets.

• Oversee ethics, anti-bribery, data protection, and regulatory compliance programs.

• Manage legal risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

4. Litigation & Dispute Management

• Oversee litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.

• Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.

• Develop dispute prevention strategies and settlement approaches.

5. Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

• Act as key liaison between APAC leadership and Global Legal function.

• Advise Board committees and senior executives on legal exposure.

• Support crisis management and reputational risk matters.

6. Team Leadership

• Lead and develop regional legal teams and country counsel.

• Manage legal budgets and external counsel spend.

• Drive legal operations efficiency and digital transformation initiatives.
