Role Overview

The Senior Director, ERP Platforms is a key member of the IT and Digital Leadership Team at HOYA Surgical Optics (HSO), responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of ERP platforms and service delivery across the global enterprise. This role ensures that ERP systems are aligned with business capabilities, scalable for future growth, and optimized for operational efficiency.

A critical aspect of this role is driving the modernization of HSO's ERP landscape, transitioning from multiple country-specific deployments to a single, unified global ERP platform. This modernization effort is essential to harmonize business processes, improve data consistency, and enable enterprise-wide agility and scalability. It supports HSO's long-term vision for digital transformation and operational excellence.

The Senior Director leads a high-performing global team to plan, implement, and continuously improve ERP platforms, ensuring seamless integration with business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and quality domains. The role is accountable for delivering reliable, compliant, and high-performing ERP services that support HSO's mission and regulatory requirements.

As the primary liaison to HOYA Corporate IT and ERP stakeholders, the Senior Director ensures alignment with corporate strategy, governance standards, and best practices in enterprise systems management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and clearly communicate the vision for HSO's future ERP landscape, emphasizing modernization, simplification, and alignment with global business capabilities to support scalability and operational excellence.
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of ERP platform transformation, consolidating multiple country-specific systems into a single global ERP instance to enable harmonized processes and enterprise-wide agility.
  • Ensure ERP platforms effectively support core business functions including manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and quality, while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Leaders and Process Owners to ensure ERP capabilities are aligned with operational needs and support continuous process improvement across the enterprise.
  • Oversee ERP service delivery globally, ensuring consistent performance, availability, and user satisfaction across all regions.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for ERP change management, configuration control, and data integrity.
  • Develop and manage a global ERP roadmap aligned with enterprise strategic plans and digital transformation goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on ERP capabilities, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global ERP team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to ERP platforms, ensuring alignment with business needs and optimal service delivery.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure ERP system performance, user experience, and service quality.
  • Ensure ERP systems are secure, validated, and compliant with GxP, FDA, ISO 13485, and other relevant industry standards and local regulations.
  • Promote adoption of ITIL best practices across ERP operations, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Plan and manage the ERP budget, optimizing costs while delivering value and supporting strategic priorities.

Requirements

Experience

  • At least 15 years of experience in ERP and enterprise systems leadership, with a strong background in managing ERP platforms across manufacturing and regulated industries. International experience is mandatory.
  • Proven track record in leading ERP modernization efforts, including global platform consolidation and service delivery across multiple regions.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), including deep understanding of it's core modules such as finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring ERP compliance with GxP, FDA, ISO 13485, and other relevant regulatory standards in the MedTech or Pharma industries.
  • Strong collaboration history with Business Process Owners to align ERP capabilities with operational needs and drive process optimization.
  • Solid foundation in ITIL-based service management practices, with experience implementing and scaling these practices globally.

  • Familiarity with agile principles and ERP implementation methodologies, especially those designed for enterprise-scale transformation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution, making decisions that support both short-term priorities and long-term goals.


Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Information Systems) is a plus.


Travel requirements

  • 15% international travel expected
