Job Description:
1. Regulatory Strategy & Financial Institution Engagement (Primary Initial Focus):
- Serve as the primary point of contact and expert for all regulatory matters with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and other key APAC regulatory bodies.
- Lead the strategy, application, and maintenance process for any required payments, e-money, or financial services licenses in the APAC region.
- Develop and own a robust regulatory engagement plan, building strong, trusted relationships with regulators and key partners in the financial services sector.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate the impact of new and evolving regulatory requirements across the APAC region to senior leadership.
2. Strategic Partnership & Banking Relationship Management:
- Develop and execute the strategy for PingPong's banking and financial institution partnerships across APAC.
- Negotiate and manage critical contracts with banks, card networks, and other payment infrastructure providers to optimize cost, reliability, and service levels.
- Proactively identify and onboard new banking partners to diversify risk, improve treasury operations, and support market expansion.
3. APAC Payment Operations & Platform Management:
- Oversee the operational excellence of the entire payment flow within APAC, including transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and treasury operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payment success rates, reduce costs, minimize fraud, and improve the overall customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Technology teams to define requirements for platform enhancements that meet regional needs and compliance mandates.
Job Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or a related field, with a significant portion focused on the APAC region.
- Proven, hands-on experience in directly engaging with APAC financial regulators.
- Deep and extensive network of relationships with senior executives at major banks and financial institutions within APAC.
- Exceptional understanding of the end-to-end payments landscape, including card schemes, bank transfers, cross-border settlement, and alternative payment methods prevalent in APAC.
- Strong knowledge of key regulations impacting payments: AML/CFT.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex projects and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Superior negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the most senior levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field an advanced degree (MBA, JD) is a strong plus.
