At Tapestry, we have the freedom to express ourselves and run with our best ideas across Coach and Kate Spade New York. We share a profound belief in both our individual and collective potential, and know that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
The Senior Director of APAC Consumer Insights & Strategy is a senior leadership role within Tapestry's Consumer Insights & Strategy organization, responsible for integrating end-to-end consumer insights and strategic planning across the APAC region. This individual serves as the critical link between Tapestry's global strategy and the regional execution of brand growth initiatives across Greater China, North Asia, and Southeast Asia & Oceania (SEAO). Reporting directly to the SVP of APAC Brand & Growth Strategy, this role carries significant visibility across the organization and requires regular engagement with Tapestry's senior leaders, brand presidents, regional presidents and cross-functional stakeholders at both the regional and global level.
This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of consumer understanding and business strategy. The Senior Director is responsible for ensuring that consumer insights across all 5Ps (promotion, product, price, place, and people) — serve as the foundation for strategic choices and execution across the APAC portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Consumer Insights & Strategy to:
- Drive End-to-End Consumer Insights & Strategy Integration: The Senior Director owns the convergence of consumer insights and strategic planning for the APAC region, ensuring that all brand strategies for Coach and Kate Spade are grounded in a deep, data-driven understanding of the consumer. This individual is responsible for building and maintaining the APAC strategic roadmap, translating global strategic priorities into regionally relevant plans, and ensuring that consumer intelligence informs every major decision — from long-range planning through annual operating plans and quarterly business reviews. The role requires someone who can move fluidly between high-level strategic framing and granular consumer and market analysis, synthesizing across both to deliver clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- 5P Action Plan Execution & 5Bn Commitment Delivery: A central responsibility of this role is to operationalize Tapestry's APAC growth ambitions through rigorous management of the region's 5P action plan across promotion, product, price, place, and people. The Senior Director drives KPI development across each pillar, sizes the revenue and growth opportunity behind each initiative, and establishes performance tracking infrastructure to ensure accountability across the organization. Working hand-in-hand with business unit leaders and cross-functional partners, this individual translates the 5Bn commitment from aspiration into execution by building granular KPI frameworks that connect operational decisions to long-range financial targets. Critically, the Senior Director helps the APAC leadership team establish and maintain visibility into the region's 5Bn glidepath relative to the current LRP, identifying risks that could impede progress and opportunities that could accelerate it, while dating and gating key initiatives with clear timelines, milestones, and go/no-go criteria that give leadership confidence in the tangibility and deliverability of the growth plan. This demands a proactive, analytically sharp leader who can pressure-test assumptions, surface trade-offs, and drive honest, evidence-based dialogue that enables the organization to course-correct quickly and allocate resources to the highest-impact opportunities.
- APAC Growth Strategy & Inorganic Learning: The Senior Director will drive the inorganic learning plan for Tapestry in APAC, including evaluating opportunities for geographic expansion and new market entry. This requires a sophisticated understanding of regional consumer dynamics, competitive landscapes, and market structures across Greater China, North Asia, and SEAO. The individual will partner closely with global strategy teams to ensure alignment between APAC growth ambitions and Tapestry's overall corporate strategy, contributing insights and recommendations that shape portfolio-level decisions.
- KS Brand Partnership & Turnaround Support: This role serves as a strategic partner to brand leadership teams across the region, with particular emphasis on supporting the Kate Spade APAC turnaround. The Senior Director will work closely with APAC KS LT and functional leaders to ensure that consumer insights and strategic frameworks are embedded into brand-level planning processes, including LRP development, AOP execution, and 5b Charter performance tracking. The individual must be adept at tailoring insights and strategic recommendations to the unique needs of each brand while maintaining a transversal, portfolio-level perspective.
- Consumer Insights Across the 5Ps: Working through the Director of Consumer Insights, the Senior Director ensures that Tapestry builds deep, locally nuanced understanding of Gen Z and POME (Post-Millennial Economy) consumer behavior across all five Ps — not just promotion, but product, price, place, and people. This understanding must span the portfolio across Coach and Kate Spade and account for the nuances across Greater China, North Asia, and SEAO. The Senior Director champions innovation in research methodologies and encourages the team to partner with external thought leaders to bring outside-in perspectives that challenge assumptions and uncover new consumer and cultural insights.
- Strategic Decision Support & Organizational Influence: The Senior Director enables sharper decision-making across the APAC organization by driving faster iteration, clearer trade-offs, and more rigorous analytical frameworks. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to the SVP and broader APAC leadership team, bringing a balanced perspective that combines consumer empathy with commercial rigor. The role requires exceptional storytelling skills — the ability to distil complex data and strategic frameworks into succinct, compelling narratives that move senior audiences to action.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building: The Senior Director is responsible for building and leading a high-performing team that operates with both functional depth and strategic breadth. This includes managing and developing the Consumer Insights Director, who serves as the functional expert and Greater China lead, and the Strategy Analyst Senior Manager, who supports performance tracking and key big-bet ownership. The individual will foster a culture of intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and accountability, and will work closely with the global Consumer Insights and Strategy teams to share best practices and ensure consistency in methodologies and frameworks across regions.
