Job Description

What the role is

The Trade Division is responsible for driving Singapore's trade and developing Singapore as a global trading hub. Our Trade 2030 strategy is part of Singapore Economy 2030 vision and seeks to deepen and widen trade. We deepen trade by building up the volume of trade managed in Singapore and supporting global trading companies to do other activities beyond trading. We widen trade by diversifying the type of products Singapore trade in and bringing in companies from emerging markets.

What you will be working on

You would be part of the Energy and Chemicals team and be the account manager of a portfolio of global companies from the sector. You are expected to actively attract and engage companies to base and grow their operations in Singapore. In addition, you would be involved in projects to develop our strategies and processes, to ensure Singapore remains a conducive business environment for energy trading companies, especially as they contend with energy transition and pivot towards more sustainable energy products and projects in areas like biofuels, carbon credits and power.

What we are looking for

You should have a background in Business Management or Economics, preferably with at least 3-5 years of working experience in international business, with an interest to contribute to the public service. Knowledge of, or prior experience in the energy sector and sustainable energy would be considered favorably.
