We are looking for a Senior Design Manager with strong experience in gas and chemical systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead the design and coordination of gas and chemical infrastructure works, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality across all project stages.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, engineering, and integration of gas and chemical systems infrastructure, ensuring full compliance with relevant safety regulations, industry codes, and environmental standards.
- Review and evaluate engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and tender documents to assess technical feasibility, risk, constructability, and system compatibility.
- Lead the development of construction and installation methodologies specific to gas and chemical delivery systems, including hazardous material handling, process piping, and containment systems.
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership in the design, specification, and commissioning of gas and chemical systems across various project stages.
- Review and approve design deliverables, shop drawings, and technical submissions, focusing on compliance, constructability, system integrity, and opportunities for value engineering.
- Coordinate closely with Quantity Surveyors, Planning, BIM, and Procurement teams liaise with vendors and subcontractors to ensure optimized, safe, and cost-effective system solutions.
- Conduct on-site inspections, HAZOP reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies for high-risk systems and operations.
- Represent the engineering team in client and consultant meetings, ensuring that technical requirements and project objectives for gas and chemical systems are clearly understood and achieved within project timelines.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 -10 years of relevant experience in gas and chemical system design.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices (e.g., P&ID, process piping, hazardous materials handling).
- Proven leadership and coordination skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
