Position Overview
The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for leading the demand planning process to ensure accurate forecasting, effective inventory management, and alignment between sales, marketing, and supply chain functions. This role will analyze historical data, market trends, and business intelligence to build reliable demand forecasts that support business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Demand Planning & Forecasting
Develop and manage the demand forecast for assigned product categories using statistical models, sales inputs, and market intelligence.
Lead the monthly demand review process, ensuring alignment between sales, marketing, and supply chain.
Continuously improve forecasting accuracy through root cause analysis and corrective action plans. - Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner with sales, marketing, and finance teams to incorporate business insights into demand plans.
Collaborate with supply planning to ensure demand forecasts are translated into accurate production and inventory plans.
Act as a key liaison in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings, providing recommendations on demand scenarios. - Analytics & Reporting
Monitor demand KPIs (forecast accuracy, bias, service levels, inventory turns) and propose improvements.
Provide demand insights to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
Identify risks and opportunities against the forecast and recommend mitigation strategies. - Process Improvement & Leadership
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the demand planning function.
Mentor and guide junior planners to strengthen the planning capability within the team.
Lead projects to optimize forecasting tools, systems, and processes.
