Senior Database Administrator

Overview

The Application DBA shall have at least 2 years of experience in database administration in Azure SQL and 3 years of experience in software development industry or server infrastructure Project. He will be working with a team of Application DBAs and reporting to the Lead DBA. The team is supporting the development and operation environment involving database administration and database migration support activities as we are in the midst of migrating from existing DB2 database to Azure SQL database.

What will you do

• Day-to-day monitoring, deployment and maintenance of DB systems.
• Troubleshoot issues related to Database.
• Participate in Database Design review.
• Provide operating guidance, training and troubleshooting documents to internal and external parties.
• Automate and maintain orchestration of cloud platforms
• Optimization of databases to achieve highest throughput and performance for production use.
• Work with development team on database design and implementation.
• Adhere to strict security practices for compliance
• Devise Process and Procedures related to Database activities.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Minimum 3 years in software development industry or server infrastructure Project
• Minimum 2 years of experience in database administration in Azure SQL
• Good understanding on Database concepts
• Experience in Windows platform
• Experience with ITIL processes like Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, etc
• Good documentation skill
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment
