We are supporting a public sector organisation undergoing a large-scale digital transformation in hiring a
Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver enterprise data platforms supporting analytics, policy decision-making, and AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and platforms (batch and real-time)
- Develop data models (OLTP, OLAP, dimensional) and manage ETL/ELT processes
- Deliver analytics datasets, dashboards, and data products to enable insights
- Implement data integration solutions (APIs, streaming, CDC) and DataOps practices
- Support machine learning / LLM use cases and apply MLOps where relevant
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance standards are met
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in data engineering within enterprise environments
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
- Experience with big data tools (e.g. Spark, Kafka) and ETL/ELT frameworks
- Familiarity with DataOps / CI-CD practices
Preferred
- Exposure to machine learning, LLMs, or AI applications
- Understanding of MLOps and responsible AI principles
